Brass Note Dedication for Dewey Phillips
9:30 a.m. In front of W.C. Handy Park, located on the northeast corner of Third and Beale Streets. The Beale Street Brass Note Committee will be honoring Dewey Phillips with a brass note on Beale Street’s “Walk of Fame.”  Phillips was one of Memphis’ most famous and entertaining disc jockeys who in 1954 was the first DJ to give air time to Elvis. The ceremony is open to the public.

Rehearsal for Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Cannon Center, downtown. Only open to Elvis Week Premier Ticket Package and Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert VIP Package purchasers. Package purchasers will just need to show an ID at the door of the Cannon Center where they will receive a wristband to attend the rehearsal.

Fan Club Presidents’ Event - THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT!
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Fogelman Executive Conference Center, University of Memphis. Elvis fans are invited to celebrate the work of Elvis Presley fan clubs during this special event. In addition to celebrating and recognizing the work of fan clubs, the event will feature a program of EPE company updates and special announcements. Also, attendees to the event will enjoy a feature segment with a special guest. Special guest will be Michael Hoey, who wrote the screenplays for two Elvis Presley films –– Stay Away, Joe and Live a Little, Love a Little, and was a contributing writer on four more Presley films (Tickle Me, Spinout, Speedway and Double Trouble), as well as an Associate Producer on two of them. . Official Elvis Presley Fan Club presidents will receive an invitation and registration form via mail to reserve their tickets for the event. Graceland Scavenger Hunt - Bears on Tour
5:00 p.m. Starting at the Graceland Ticket Office. Guests are invited to tour Graceland Mansion (no audio tour) and the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum while simultaneously participating in a trivia scavenger hunt. The Official Elvis Insiders 2009 Elvis Week Event
Shake, Rattle and Bowl Party
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Strike Zone Bowling Alley, 3330 Pine Tar Alley, Southaven, Mississippi. Elvis Insiders are invited to shake, rattle and bowl as you meet new Insiders and have fun with old friends during a special event filled with lots of great Elvis-themed fun. This special Elvis Week party is for Elvis Insiders members plus one guest. Elvis Insiders are taking over this premier party space, just 15 minutes from Graceland, for the three-hour event. Activities will include bowling, billiards, an Elvis trivia contest and lots of fun surprises. Elvis clips and music will be playing throughout the entire facility. Special guests The TCB Band, The Sweet Inspirations, Elvis' Imperials, Millie Kirkham and Joe Guercio will also be stopping by for an autograph session. The Genuine Elvis Book Launch and Autograph Signing
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Elvis Lives Exhibit, Graceland Plaza. Join co-authors: county music star Ronnie McDowell, television personality Edie Hand, music producer and manager Joe Meador along with Gene Smith’s widow Louise Smith for an autographing event celebrating the launch of this new must-have book for Elvis fans and collectors. The Genuine Elvis includes original paintings from Ronnie McDowell, dozens of remarkable pictures by photography legend Al Wertheimer and many terrific first hand stories from people in Elvis’ world including the never-before-told story of the exclusive 1956 interview that disc jockey Charles Watts recorded with Elvis and his parents.

Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert
8:00 p.m. Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 North Main Street, downtown Memphis. 40 years after Elvis Presley triumphantly returned to the stage at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. will reunite many of the original cast for an Elvis Week 2009 concert celebration. Live musical performances along with video and audio will create a magical music experience that will be almost as exciting as being there in the summer of 1969. Performers currently scheduled to participate include; Joe Guercio, Elvis’ orchestra conductor for many of his Vegas performances; The TCB Band members James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, Jerry Scheff and Glen D Hardin; Elvis’ back up singers Elvis' Imperials, including Joe Moscheo, Terry Blackwood, Sherman Andrus and Gus Gaches, The Sweet Inspirations, including Myrna Smith, Estelle Brown, Portia Griffin, and Millie Kirkham. In addition, Ken Sharp, author of Elvis: Vegas '69, will also appear as a special guest at the event. If you are one of the lucky Elvis fans at Conversations on Elvis - Session Two, in addition to hearing all about Elvis in Vegas in 1969, you’ll also find out about Elvis in Vegas in 2009! As you already know, very soon, Elvis will once again reign over the glittering city in a spectacular performance presented by Cirque du Soleil. In collaboration with Elvis-Presley-Enterprises, CKX, Inc. and MGM MIRAGE, the show is destined to be the star attraction at the Las Vegas Strip’s newest mega-resort, ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter, due to open in December 2009. As part of Conversations on Elvis - Session Two, Cirque du Soleil Executive Producer Stéphane Mongeau, Director of Creation Armand Thomas and Production Manager Mike Anderson will give an exclusive first look at the new creation. The production aims to pay tribute to Elvis’ music and life, fusing dance and acrobatics, live music and iconic tracks, nostalgia and modernity, high technology and raw emotion. Music begins at 2:15 p.m. and Mass is at 3:00 p.m. St Paul Catholic Church, 1425 E. Shelby Dr. They will have a Spaghetti Dinner 4:30-7:00 p.m.

Elvis Presley Gladiators Kick-Off Event with Wayne Carman
3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Elvis Lives Exhibit, Graceland Plaza. Come and meet Wayne Carman, who provided commentary on the new release of Elvis’ never-completed, martial arts epic The New Gladiators, and was with Elvis when much of the footage was shot. Carman was a friend of Elvis' who shared his love for karate. The new Elvis Presley Gladiators DVD will be offered for sale for the first time during this event and fans will be able to see excerpts from the DVD. Carman will be signing copies of his book Elvis’s Karate Legacy and the Elvis Presley Gladiators DVD during the event.

Elvis Plaque Presentation from Sony Music 
5:00 p.m. The Plaza Green at Graceland. Join executives from Sony Music, EPE and fans from around the world for a presentation of plaques that honor Elvis’ recent worldwide gold, silver and platinum achievements.

Autograph Signing with Ken Sharp, Author of Elvis: Vegas '69

Candlelight Vigil
8:30 p.m. Gates of Graceland Mansion. After an opening ceremony at the gates of the Graceland Mansion property, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis’s gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Free admission. No tickets or reservations. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary date of Elvis’s passing. Free secured parking at the Graceland visitor center complex after 6:00 p.m.

Morning and Evening Walk-ups for Meditation Garden
Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk-up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk-ups will be from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on August 8-15. Morning walk-ups will not be available on August 16 due to Candlelight Vigil. Elvis Week evening walk-ups will be 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 8-14 and on August 16. Evening walk-ups will not be available on August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

Last Chance Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest at the Memphis Hard Rock Cafe
August 8-10. 9:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. each night. Memphis Hard Rock Cafe, 315 Beale Street, Memphis. The Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis is looking for the best Elvis tribute artists to compete in their "Last Chance" event. The winner will receive the right to go on to the semifinal round just a few days later. If you are interested in competing, email memphis_sales@hardrock.com. And, if you are interested in cheering on your favorite ETA, tickets are $5.00 for each semifinal event (Aug. 8 & 9) and $10.00 for the final event (Aug. 10).
