8:00 p.m. – 12:00 Midnight. Elvis Presley Car Museum, Graceland Plaza. Come hang out and enjoy a private party with your fellow Elvis fans. A disc jockey spins Elvis records for your listening and dancing pleasure. Cash bar featuring adult beverages (ID's checked) and soft drinks. Outdoor smoking area designated – no smoking inside. A wristband ticket allows you to come and go from Club Elvis as much as you like during the evening in order for you to enjoy all the other activities on the property. Tickets are $20. Brass Note Dedication for Dewey Phillips
9:30 a.m. In front of W.C. Handy Park, located on the northeast corner of Third and Beale Streets. The Beale Street Brass Note Committee will be honoring Dewey Phillips with a brass note on Beale Street’s “Walk of Fame.” Phillips was one of Memphis’ most famous and entertaining disc jockeys who in 1954 was the first DJ to give air time to Elvis. The ceremony is open to the public.
Rehearsal for Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert

The Official Elvis Insiders 2009 Elvis Week Event
Shake, Rattle and Bowl Party
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Strike Zone Bowling Alley, 3330 Pine Tar Alley, Southaven, Mississippi. Elvis Insiders are invited to shake, rattle and bowl as you meet new Insiders and have fun with old friends during a special event filled with lots of great Elvis-themed fun. This special Elvis Week party is for Elvis Insiders members plus one guest. Elvis Insiders are taking over this premier party space, just 15 minutes from Graceland, for the three-hour event. The Genuine Elvis Book Launch and Autograph Signing

Join co-authors: county music star Ronnie McDowell, television personality Edie Hand, music producer and manager Joe Meador along with Gene Smith’s widow Louise Smith for an autographing event celebrating the launch of this new must-have book for Elvis fans and collectors. The Genuine Elvis includes original paintings from Ronnie McDowell, dozens of remarkable pictures by photography legend Al Wertheimer and many terrific first hand stories from people in Elvis’ world including the never-before-told story of the exclusive 1956 interview that disc jockey Charles Watts recorded with Elvis and his parents.
Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert

Live musical performances along with video and audio will create a magical music experience that will be almost as exciting as being there in the summer of 1969. Elvis Presley Gladiators Kick-Off Event with Wayne Carman
3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Elvis Lives Exhibit, Graceland Plaza. Come and meet Wayne Carman, who provided commentary on the new release of Elvis’ never-completed, martial arts epic
The New Gladiators, and was with Elvis when much of the footage was shot. Carman was a friend of Elvis' who shared his love for karate. The new
Elvis Presley Gladiators DVD will be offered for sale for the first time during this event and fans will be able to see excerpts from the DVD. Carman will be signing copies of his book
Elvis’s Karate Legacy and the
Elvis Presley Gladiators DVD during the event.
Elvis Plaque Presentation from Sony Music

Candlelight Vigil
8:30 p.m. Gates of Graceland Mansion. After an opening ceremony at the gates of the Graceland Mansion property, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis’s gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Free admission. No tickets or reservations. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary date of Elvis’s passing. Free secured parking at the Graceland visitor center complex after 6:00 p.m.

Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk-up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk-ups will be from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on August 8-15. Morning walk-ups will not be available on August 16 due to Candlelight Vigil. Elvis Week evening walk-ups will be 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 8-14 and on August 16. Evening walk-ups will not be available on August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.
Last Chance Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest at the Memphis Hard Rock Cafe

Our Town II: Eyes on Graceland Art Exhibit
August 4-31. Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road, Memphis, TN 38117. Original paintings created by The River City Artists to commemorate Graceland’s 70th Anniversary, on display and available for purchase in the Visitors Center Gallery. This group of artists experienced the unique opportunity to spend two days in and around Graceland, gathering ideas and inspiration for this special project. Open to public, free admission.
